These are truly the greatest days of Buford Road Baptist Church. Whatever spiritual need you may have, I am confident we can help you. If you are relocating into the area or currently in search for a new church home, please accept my personal invitation to visit with us this coming Sunday. If we can assist you before then, please feel free to call our church office at 804-320-2734.

It is with joy unspeakable that we have embraced your fellowship and membership into our congregation. We do not take your decision to become a member of our church for granted. We acknowledge that you have prayed and you have sought direction from the Lord to make this place of worship your church home. Every member and visitor is precious to me. I want you to know that I have made it a priority to hold you up before the Lord in prayer every day. So that you may get to know me and my family a little better, let me give you a brief history of my ministry.

I was born the first time on September 15th, 1957. I was born again in 1963. I had the wonderful privilege of growing up in a Christian home all of my life. After graduating from high school in June of 1976, my wife, Gail and I were married at the Grace Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia. Shortly thereafter, God called me into the ministry to preach the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ in January of 1978. My Biblical studies for the ministry began at Appomattox Bible Institute. I continued to pursue my education at the Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia, where I earned my Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees.

My first place of full-time Christian service began at the Faith Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, Virginia, where I served for a short period of time as the Associate Pastor. I first became involved with the Buford Road Baptist Church as a staff member in 1981, teaching the Bible in the Christian Day School. In 1983, I became the Associate Pastor here. In July of 1987, I became the Senior Pastor of this great church.

Since becoming the pastor of Buford Road Baptist Church, my wife Gail has been actively involved in the ministries of Buford Road Baptist Church. She currently is our Senior Saints Director for our Senior Saints Ministry. She is also a choir member, teaches Sunday School, Nursery Ministries, as well as Office Manager for the church.

Gail and I have been blessed of the Lord with three precious children who are all grown, married, and have kids of their own now. They are all serving the Lord in their home church. Our oldest son, Adam, serves on my full-time staff here at the church as Pastor’s Assistant and Young Adult Ministry Director.

He and his wife, Korie, together have 8 precious children, Jordan, Joshua, Logan, Madison, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Rylan, and Leah. Our second born, Brian, co-Pastor’s a church that they launched in October 2013 called Exchange Church in Rolesville, NC. He is married to Jana and has 3 children, Brody, Levi, and Aven (who was adopted in 2012 from Ethiopia). Krystal, our youngest, is married to Tim White who serves as Executive Pastor at Park Valley Church in Haymarket, Va. They have 3 children, Harrison, Joslyn, and Liam. We absolutely love our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren!

I love old-time preaching and old-fashioned Southern Gospel Quartet music. God has allowed me to partner in ministry with my two sons lifting up His name in song. Outside of the pulpit, I love to joke and have a good time. I have a wonderful sense of humor. My favorite Bible Verse is Psalm 37:3-5 and my favorite song is “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.” I love the color blue and my favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys. I love the farm life and enjoy growing a garden. I love spending as many quiet moments with my wife as possible. But the greatest joy of my life is winning people to Christ. Outside of my salvation and my family, there is no greater joy for me on this side of Heaven than to Pastor this great church.

I want you to know that I am always approachable. Whenever you have a need, please feel free to call me. Serving you as Pastor is just as important to me as breathing. You will soon find out that I am not perfect. I make many mistakes. However, I promise you that I will do the very best that I can in helping you get to Heaven with a full reward. Again, welcome to Buford Road Baptist Church. May our walk together always reflect the love of Christ and a compassion for the lost.

A Word For Today
If perhaps you are going through a storm in life and you have no idea why, if you have been hurt or devastated beyond comprehension, remember this. “God loves you too much to do you wrong and he’s too wise to make a mistake”. You may not see the answer now, but in his time you will. Take comfort in Romans. 8:28

Come share your heart with me. I will do what ever I can do to help you. We hope to see you this week.

Pastor Tony
